Season fizzles out for Whitehills

WHITEHILLS finished their season on a low with a 5-0 defeat by Nairn St Ninian at School Park in North Division Two.

Whitehills again put out a squad that was thin on the ground with Ross Gibb, Allan Stephen and Colin Brook all missing.

Nairn took the lead after the central midfielder was left with acres of space on the edge of the box and he slotted his shot beyond the sprawling Stuart Smith.

Nairn made it two with an excellent free kick from 25 yards.

Hotshot William Pauline had the chance to halve the deficit after he found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but the striker failed to find the net.

After the break, Nairn continued to dominate and duly killed off Whitehills with three well-worked goals.

North Division Two ended with Parkvale going up as champions with Whitehills finishing in a respectable third place.

Joining Whitehills in the league next season will be Elgin side Bishopmill.

Whitehills: Smith, S. Gray, Legge, Murdo, Simpson, Thom, Cassie, Seivwright, R. Gray, Watt, Pauline. Subs: Ritchie, Devlin, Predell, Findlay, Barron.
