Keep the turbines out of sight

I think it is an absolute disgrace that Banff and Macduff Community Trust members think they can make money by erecting industrial wind turbines nine miles away from Banff and Macduff.

They are coastal towns and they want to erect it in some one else’s community. Why don’t they erect it nine miles offshore?

Why do they propose to build this eyesore so far away from Banff when the residents who will be living under the shadow of it can’t even become members of said Trust to give any input.

There are wind turbines around Banff. Boyndie for instance is approximately three miles away, why don’t they erect it there?

If this proposal goes ahead there will be three residential homes living 400 metres away from an 80-metre high structure. The noise will be a problem, as will the ‘flicker’ from the blades, and these properties will be devalued.

There is a bill going through the House of Lords that suggests this type of turbine should be 1500 metres away from the nearest dwelling.

I am not against renewable energy, but it seems any landowner is being given the opportunity to erect these eyesores anywhere across Aberdeenshire. Erect them offshore or build them out of sight, they do not need to go on the top of hills to operate. They are spoiling a very beautiful part of Scotland.
