Banff streets evacuated

Grampian Police is continuing to carry out a controlled evacuation of a number of streets in the Low Shore area of Banff following concerns raised by a member of the public today (Thursday).

As a result of the developing inquiries officers have identified materials within a property and are working their way out from the locus to a distance of 100metres to evacuate surrounding streets. Additional officers have been drafted into the area to ensure residents are informed of the developing situation and offered a place at the reception centre at Banff Academy.
